Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Hummingbird Bakery is launching a biscuit barrel of cupcakes inspired by the ingredients of some of the nation’s favourite biscuits. With a different biscuit-themed cupcake for every day of the week, between 1 June and 31 July, there’ll be no need to squabble over who gets the last Jaffa Cake or chocolate chip cookie!
Monday
Custard Cream Cupcake
A cupcake sensation with classic vanilla sponge, a custard centre and generous vanilla frosting.
Tuesday
Gingernut Cupcake
A moist ginger cupcake sponge base with a swirl of cool cream cheese frosting topping, sugar, spice and all things nice and a scattering of real Gingernut biscuit crumbs.
Wednesday
Oaty Crunch Cupcake
A moreish chocolate frosting topped vanilla cupcake with buttery oaty biscuit crumbs swirled through the frosting and a mini milk chocolate oaty biscuit on top for a double chocolate delight.
Thursday
Jolly Jammer Cupcake
A gooey and fabulously fruity strawberry and vanilla centre encased with a light vanilla sponge, balanced on a swirl of lightly whipped vanilla frosting.
Friday
Tea Cake Cupcake
A handful of real biscuit crumbs baked into a rich chocolate cupcake sponge, hand-finished with vanilla buttercream frosting and another liberal sprinkling of biscuit crumbs and a teeny handmade Tea Cake biscuit.
Friday
Jaffa Cake Cupcake
A fluffy vanilla sponge with a cheeky citrus marmalade middle, and a mini Jaffa Cake on top for good measure.
Saturday
Chocolate Chip Cookie Cupcake
A chocolate sponge with a luxurious chocolate frosting whipped with chocolate chip cookie pieces swirled and choc chip cookie chunks scattered on top of a chocolate sponge. Yum!
‘The Biscuit Tin’ Daily Specials cupcakes are available for over-the-counter purchase in all five branches of The Hummingbird Bakery priced at £3.55 to eat in and £2.95 to take away. Online ordering is available for boxes of 12 or more Daily Specials cupcakes of the same flavour via The Hummingbird Bakery website.
